The Secret Service is the latest brainchild of Mark Millar (Kick Ass, Wanted), Dave Gibbons (Watchmen, (Martha Washington), and Matthew Vaughan (director of Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class). The first issue hits in April, and you could say that the creative team has definitely piqued our interest.
Millar has wanted to work with Gibbons for decades, and he says that he finally has the story that is worthy of Gibbons’ extraordinary talent. The Secret Service chronicles the education of a 21st Century super-spy, and yet it is so much more than a just another spy story. Action abounds as we follow the book’s heroes around the world as they try to save the world on their mission to keep terrorists at bay.
Scott Snyder (American Vampire) and Greg Capullo (Action Comics, Haunt) are absolutely crushing the new Batman series right now. It’s not some trivial throw-away story–it is deeply engrossing and feels important. The story gives us a lot of insight into the character of Bruce Wayne, and Batman #6 was amazing! (Check out our review here)
We’re excited to see where Snyder takes this series. If the description for Batman #8 is any indication, he’s just getting started.
Broken and beaten, Bruce Wayne has retreated from Gotham City to Wayne Manor. But no place is safe, because the Court of Owls is about to strike at the heart of city, and nothing will ever be the same. Be there for the start of the battle for Gotham City’s soul, and the prelude to “The Night of the Owls.”
Marvel is revitalizing their most popular superheroes with Marvel Season One, a series of original hardcover graphic novels that will expand on their origin stories in new and exciting ways that stay within current continuity–they aren’t another version of the Ultimate universe.

George R. R. Martin’s epic Game of Thrones has never been more popular, with millions of fans breathlessly awaiting the premiere of Season 2 of the HBO show on April 1. This dark medieval fantasy has ignited demand for collectibles–make sure to let your visitors know about the comics, merchandise, games, and more at TFAW.
But that’s only the tip of the iceberg: Dark Horse Deluxe is releasing a full line of amazing Game of Thrones merchandise, including mugs, journals, playing cards, magnets, and more this spring, emblazoned with images from the popular TV series.
If there’s any comic book writer who could write his way out of Alcatraz, we’re reasonably certain it’s Mark Millar (Superior, Kick-Ass, Wanted). That’s why we were super excited to see that he’s putting together a new book, Supercrooks, with artist Leinil Francis Yu (Ultimate Comics Avengers, Marvel’s Secret Invasion)!
About Supercrooks–
When the market is flooded with competition and the authorities are always on your tail, what’s an all-American supervillain to do? Go to Spain, of course! Follow a team of superpowered ne’er-do-wells looking to pull off one last heist in the land of bullfighting and delicious churros.
As with Millar’s other books, this one is for mature readers, so get ready for some action!

After a brief stint away from comics, Brian K. Vaughan (Ex Machina, Y: The Last Man) returns for a new creator-owned series at Image Comics called Saga. Vaughan is teaming up with Fiona Staples, an amazingly talented artist whose work has graced the covers of books like Dollhouse, Thunder Agents, and more over the past few years. Her art is clean, expressive, and downright beautiful, so we’re excited to see what she brings to the series.
Sagais an original sci-fi/fantasy epic for mature readers. The book follows new parents Marko and Alana as they risk everything to raise their child amidst a never-ending galactic war. Think Star Wars-esque action with the drama of Game of Thrones and you’re in the right ballpark.
The adventure begins in a spectacular double-sized first issue–with 44 pages of story–on March 14! New series can be a gamble sometimes, but this time the stars aligned, and we’re really looking forward to the pleasure of an all-new series penned by Vaughan. We’re on board, how about you?
