Which I highly doubt.

Found an old haloscan throwback. Give thanks unto the Lord and the bounty of arguments he supplies us bored creatures.

"Yo.

This place is looking more like a Fark flame war everyday...

Zombies....???

Leave Nate alone, it's not like anybody ever renounced any belief in
anything through a name calling session... you can't convince geeky
fans to change their mind on a frickin' TV show, and you wanna
challenge Christians on core life value beliefs??!!

Nigga please!!

It only plays in to "hating only hate" and the "persecution" complexes of both liberal and religious alike.

I actually like Christians.

Like Armenians and Jews, they are the most "Korean" of various people I've met.

Polite, conventional, hard working, and pig headed.

Most Koreans you'll meet state side are, or at least were, Christians.
They tend to be either exemplary decent human beings or complete
hypocritical assholes, personality traits existing independently of
belief in Jesus as Divine Saviour.

I have never counted myself as one, but I have studied the Bible, as
all educated people should, if only to be conversant in the monumental
impact it has had in Western history.

Being interested in the many religious traditions of the world, I also
think Christianity offers nothing more to a civilized Asian other then
an overlay of foreign myths and superstitions of ancient
Hebrews/Greeks. You can easily be a traditional value, conservative,
fag-hating, women-put-downing, anti-abortion Confucian, as many are.

But I also think we should ban corn syrup, sugar laden "soft drinks,"
fast food, advertising targeting children, and most if not all video
games, and institute a rigorous mandatory fitness exam along with
academics testing at every grade level, etc... oh yeah, de-privatize
the airwaves and eliminate private media ownership (something along the
lines of CBC or Euro public TV.).

Eliminate high school as well, total
waste of time, take only the geeky 10 percent to college, rest in
vocational schools, apprentices in training, etc... Ban private
vehicles, destroy the suburbs and re-forest the fuck out of it,
re-center the population back in to city in small close knit community
hubs connected by various public transport... obviously reduce the oil
imports by encouraging and subsidizing alt fuels, fusion, not fission,
crude oil only for manufacturing and agricultural sector and then
slowly phase them out into organic (i.e. sustainable, non soil
destroying, non carcinigeous) faming...

Oh yeah, stop the meat
subsidies, let the "market" decide the price of beef (which, I've read,
would be about 46 dollars a pound factoring in all the expense in land,
water, and feed we taxpayers pay the industry to gorge ourselves in to
heart attacks, colon cancer etc... you know most of the wheat grown
goes in to animals as feed? We give food people can eat to grass eating
cows. Ya'll fat fucks know all that meat's bad for you, anyway!) Ban
dangerous cults like Scientology, emphasize the nicer sides of existing
religions... the Gospels, not Dueterotomy, etc...

Promote community activities... knitting circles, bowling leagues,
anything that gets people out together, away from staring at the TV
alone all day (nothing but PBS shit on it by the time I'm through!),
re-estalblish the extended family, kinship and meme, not the false
promise of nuclear family that brought us nothing but isolation,
divorce, and aniome ( i.e. "teen angst" and other made up bullshit for
the utter failure of the "educational system." Human Beings left to rot
without guidance and direction in the most pivotal part of their lives,
years of wasted potential, reduced to hapless cynicism and artificial
apathy.)

Will it be a Heaven on Earth? A new Eden?

No, people'll find a way to fuck it up, it'll end like anything else,
it'll just last longer then the present one (50~100 years before
complete environmental degradation and/or nuclear/bio/chem wars :P )
and people'd be more fulfilled. Not happy. Contrary to popular myth,
happiness is not a goal to be pursued, attained or bought, but a
byproduct of a decent life, a livelihood that honors your community,
family and yourself.

So I have some wacky ideas, as us all.
I prefer my vision over Nate's, but his is a foregone conclusion and mine's a fantasy.

And so it goes.

-----------

What happens when we die?!

Where do we go?!

Back, back to the same place we were before being born, of course.
