We were discussing popular webcomics and I mentioned Lackadaisy Cats to Hyung and jokingly suggested he turn the comic into an anthro thing because cats are popular on the interwebs. So he came up with this.

It’s actually not bad, it kinda reminds me of Sherlock Hound, an old anime by Miyazaki that was pretty good (And also kinda steampunk in many ways) so maybe the idea has potential??

PAGE 0003 (10 Panels)

Panel 1. Close up of Idgie’s finger twisting the knob

Panel 2. Alderman’s reaction to the device.

INSPECTOR:
And pray tell, what have you.

Panel 3. Close up of Inspector lighting a match.

Panel 4. He lights a pipe while Idgie keeps rotating the switch.

IDGIE:
A wireless transmitter, it sends a series of electrical signals
via radio waves to a receiving unit. Very new.

Panel 5. View of their feet from outside through the space made by the house slowly rising up.

IDGIE:
Although one needs two hands to activate it. I think this can be much improved upon with a switch that can be triggered with just but a finger– in a neat up and down motion.

NELL:
You mean a button?

Panel 6. Idgie’s face.

IDGIE:
Button? No, I mean a switch, toggle, dial, gear or lever. Git.

Panel 7. Grinding gears.

Panel 8. Nell looking up.

NELL:
Oh, oh my.

Panel 9. Grinding gears halt.

Panel 10. Wide shot of the house lifting high above the foundation by four arabesque metal stilts– overextended and creaking.

IDGIE:
There, the means!

INSPECTOR:
Perhaps you needn’t have kept on toggling, once might have been sufficient….

Well, that’s one way to solve a locked-room mystery.
EXCEPT THE LOWER PIVOTS ARE ON THE WRONG SIDE FOR THE LINKAGES TO WORK. RAGE.

  4. hyung says:

    Ah, I thought of this.
If you look closely, you’ll see the house rotates clockwise along with the stilt thingies’ bases.
It’s loopy and ridiculous, but not wrong.
